  • Finally we switched to "common files" instead of using projects. Impacts to this change:
    • Project  are stored in one single file now with the extension "h2.db", e.g. "Demo.h2.db". You can copy, move or rename such a files as long as you don't change the extension. Depending on your system settings, you won't see extensions anyway.
    • There is no project folder anymore. Storybook files can now be stored wherever you want.
  • A Russian translation is available now.
  • A Czech translation is available now.
  • A Simplified Chinese translation is available now.
  • For Windows user: If you have trouble with the installation, try the following steps:
    1. Start the Storybook Uninstaller and follow the instructions.
    2. Reboot.
    3. Remove the storybook folder manually, if it is still there (called "storybook", located in the program folder).
    4. Install the the new version of Storybook.

After the update

There are several things to notice after the update:

  • The welcome dialog is not shown anymore. There is currently no replacement.
  • The options "open last project on start up" is currently disabled. This feature might be available again in a future release.
  • The menu "File -> Open Recent" is scheduled, but not implemented yet.
  • The menu "File -> Save as" is scheduled, but not implemented yet. You can copy a Storybook file with the file explorer.
  • After the start you will see the application without any file loaded. To load your project, select "File -> Open".
    • If you see your files in the opened dialog, you're done. Just open it and continue with work. It is recommended (but not necessary) to move your files to another folder.
    • If you don't see your files but simply your home directory, please enter the right folder location. On Windows for user "frodo" that would be:
      C:\Users\frodo\.storybook\projects
  • Backups: There is no possibility to make backups anymore. Please backup your Storybook files with your backup software.
  • Internal Backups: Although the internal backup tool has been dropped, the backup files already created are still available. If you want to restore such a backup, locate the file, unzip it and open it.
