It would be very convenient to export the novel itself in verious formats and not only the reports. |
Ok, I found the export as a summary, but it is not much better then plain text 'cause its only using half of the site.
And opening it in Writer (LibO) its even harder to reformat than plain text 'cause there are tables all over the place.
All I need is a simple export (similar to plain text) but with caption/scene headings formatted that i can change them all with one single click.
It is already planed to have a direct book export feature in future. If possible we'd like to have several book formats supported, e.g. book formats that can be used on Books on Demand (bod.de) or lulu.com.
Sounds great :)
Do you have any idea how long it will take? Half a year? One year? Longer?
If it takes to long for me to wait:
Your SVN-Repo only contains the free version. Am I right?
So do you think it will be possible to build this feature myself?
I graduated in java, but since then my skills got a bit rusty. Is the source code "well" documented? ;)
Is the ODT-export "component" also available in the free version to utilize it for this task?

If you can't wait, download the template from Lulu and insert the exported text. Actually pretty easy:

PS: We cannot give support for building from source code. Sorry.
I'd be happy if I could export to MsWord, having the output presented as shown in the Book View screen. Point is that I'd like to take my works in progress with me when traveling, as to read my work as if it's already published - or at least formatted as a passable manuscript. Typically, this habit springs forth new content, and helps me to 'bug-out' continuity issues.
Are you considering adding a MsWord Export feature? [hoping, hoping, hoping...]
PS: Just noticing your reference to Lulu, and eager to learn how to use their templates.
Use RTF, that's for MS Word: http://www.novelist.ch/joomla/index.php/en/storybook-pro
