Another approach would be to have customer defined attributes for each gender similar to tags / items. Predefined attributes may work for human beings, but they'll sure not work for fantasy stories.

  • Such an attribute could have
    • a link to a gender
    • a name
    • a category (?)
    • a value
      • always string or some types, e.g. string, numeric, boolean?
      • allow predefined values?

I vote for a possibility to just add your own fields/categories (unlimited), to every character.

I too vote for adding your own fields. These can be added to the top of the Description tab of the Character creation window.

It would be nice if Character and Scene windows displayed the Tags already attached to it.

Seems to me one might use the same additional fields in multiple novels. Also some of the same characters. An import function between projects would be nice.

It'd be good to have the option to add blank fields, so to allow the user to decide which ones to throw in, instead of choosing fields from a given list

I think it's a good idea only if we have the possibility of adding our fields/categories to every character.
and adding picture for character, locations, tags and items
I prefer to have picture then a lot of fields
